Tony Humphries was my favorite!nnIn New York, I would record mixes from Kiss FM Radio. I would take the tape recorder to work and capture every sound I could from the radio. And then, when I could, I would go to stores like Rock and Soul. You could find anything there. It was a paradise for someone like me who made a living from music. I took the tapes to the shops to recognize the tracks: there was Benji Candelario who would put the records aside for me, I would make him listen to the tapes and he would find what I was looking for. It was another way of discovering music, more human, more real. Today it would be unthinkable. I bought the records, but I only listened to them when I returned to Italy. There I was always too busy working. But when I returned home and put on those vinyls, it was like going back to New York. Every track took me back in time.nnBy DJ Paul 87nnMixtape recorded in 1993 Kiss FM N.Y.C.nnThe whole interview: https://www.family-house.net/dj-paul-87-paradise-garage-new-york-interview/
