Il suo motto è: May the funk be with you!

Mr. 15mins: “ Per diversi anni hai creato il Jazz not Dead Festival

Poi all’improvviso: STOP ..Non voglio aggiungere altro!

Difficile trovare sbocchi interessanti qua in Italia.

Dj Dax: “Son tantissimi: MR FINGERS – LARRY HEARD, BJØRN TORSKE, SWAYZAK, STEVIE KOTEY, IDJUT BOYS, DJ SPUN, MUDD, TOBI NEUMANN, ITALOBOYS, UNZIP, ALEX SMOKE, MARCO PASSARANI, MOG, SHADOW SYNC, HOWIE B, KENNY CARPENTER, JOAKIM, ETIENNE DE CRECI’, ZAK FROST, SAVAS PASCALIDIS, DAVIDE SQUILLACE, LORY D, FRANCISCO, CABANNE, ARK, BRUNO PRONSATO, FERLIN, RENATO FIGOLI, ABE DUQUE, MINIMONO, LEO MAS, RALF, PASTABOYS, KIRK DEGIORGIO, ALEX UNDER, GUGLIELMO MASCIO, SLEEPARCHIVE, BUZZ GOREE, GERARDO FRISINA, JAZZANOVA, SCUOLA FURANO, PAUL MURPHY, VOLCOV, ISOUL8, AJELLO, DANIELE BALDELLI, BEPPE LODA, SLOPE, PROSUMER, MY MY, MADTEO, BORIS DJ, SPILLER, ALEX & LAETITIA, DANIEL WANG, JONA,

RA.H, TRACTILE, ROGER23, DICKY TRISCO, NEWWORLDAQUARIUM, SKAT, MIKE HUCKABY, MARCELLO NAPOLETANO, LEVON VINCENT, TAMA SUMO, QUARION, DOR, SCOTT FERGUSON, TIGER & WOODS, MORGAN GEIST, MARCELLO GIORDANI, NOZAKI, FORCE OF NATURE, DJ PETE, LUCRETIO & MARIEU .. e altri ancora.

Dj Dax: “Non vedo l’ora.. Let’s get this party started.. Come on, it’ll be very nice to meet you!

ENGLISH VERSION

He is the originator and designer of www.family-house.net, a stylish Italian e-zine. Dax has been an active Dj and promoter playing in the Veneto Club scene plus Radio Show. A lover of open air illegal parties, Dax played in important Italian summer festival, best Clubs and organize special happening like Jazz Not Dead festival, Act.On festival in Vicenza. MOGDAX composed by Mog and Dax; here list of productions: Jack Ibiza on Mii Records(Italy), Ashling on Mezzotinto 09 (France) and Phonola EP Deep Freeze Rec. (UK); also feat. Mogdax on Fabric (London) cd 37.

His motto: MAY THE FUNK BE WITH YOU!

Mr. 15mins: “I had the opportunity to listen you playing in different locations and your musical background allows you to perfectly fit every situation and audience. If you had to choose among different genres, which would you say is your favorite set and club style?”

Dj Dax: “I prefer strongly underground nights in almost private clubs…I love getting people involved in my sound, house, disco, acid, techno, dub until deep morning”.

Mr. 15mins: “You gave birth to the Jazz not Dead Festival, an extremely interesting and original happening. For many years you succeeded in perfectly organizing this happening and in getting involved a lot of important artists: Morgan Geist, Beppe Loda, Tiger&Woods, Daniel Wang, Prosumer. Why haven’t you organized the festival again this year?”

Dj Dax: “We live in a particular historical moment. The world of nightclubbing is in revolution, many things have been turning upside down, the economic situation is one of the reasons behind that…but it is not the only one. I would never have expected such a behavior from a club where I’ve been playing music for 20 years. I find that simply humiliating. The JND festival was born in 2005: it lauched a new idea of djsets held in bars. And after that it was actually killed by the bar owners therselves!JND Festival raised a lot of interest but at the same time give birth to

competition and fuelled envy among colleagues in Vicenza: this festival had succeeded in attracting a lot of people on a local but also international level.I am a dj, I am not a promoter or a pr. I looked after the art direction, the media planning and, at the same time, I was the resident dj. I virtually made everything on my own, drived by pure passion only and without a direct economic revenue. During these years I spred the vynil and djset culture, the cult for the rotary mixers and turntables. And then suddenly: stop! I don’t wanna add anything else! A lot of friends and music lovers asked me, as you did, to explain why this project has come to its end. Daniel Wang and Prosumer couldn’t believe their years when I explained my reasons and where really disappointed. Marcello Giordani gived me some hope, he told me that the owners of Sartea are likely to rethink about JND Festival…”

Mr. 15mins: “How do you see the italian scene and in particular the north east scene?”

Dj Dax: “There are very nice situations, the musical world has changed a lot in the last few years. The international guests are everywhere, but the local scene doesn’t exist anymore. Yes, it’s right, everybody could be a dj but the quality is very low and you play in the bar because the club are in extinction. Everybody try, everybody fuck you for nothing.Italy prefers the estetic sense instead of music culture!Every musical situation is on facebook. There are a photo celebrations of the nights and not of the music: everybody with the same smile, everybody equals. In some clubs abroad it is forbidden to take photo…”

Mr. 15mins: “In the last years there are your productions with excellent feedbacks, i remembered a track ( kubik) in a Fabric mix by steve bug. Is still alive the Mogdax project? Have you got something for the future?”

Dj Dax: “Do you know Freewill? It is a project exit in the end of 2012 with the support of electronique label. You can take info here www.freewillmusic.net/ and in the website of the label http://www.electronique.it/label/. It’s not easy to do something of interesting in Italy. The international artists have been more support, for this cause there isn’t an italian soul in the clubbing or in the musical area. And we can think about the italo disco productions that have twisted the world dance scene in the past”.

Mr. 15mins: “Which are the djs you most appreciated among those you have played with in back to back?”

Dj Dax: ” MR FINGERS – LARRY HEARD, BJØRN TORSKE, SWAYZAK, STEVIE KOTEY, IDJUT BOYS, DJ SPUN, MUDD, TOBI NEUMANN, ITALOBOYS, UNZIP, ALEX SMOKE, MARCO PASSARANI, MOG, SHADOW SYNC, HOWIE B, KENNY CARPENTER, JOAKIM, ETIENNE DE CRECI’, ZAK FROST, SAVAS PASCALIDIS, DAVIDE SQUILLACE, LORY D, FRANCISCO, CABANNE, ARK, BRUNO PRONSATO, FERLIN, RENATO FIGOLI, ABE DUQUE, MINIMONO, LEO MAS, RALF, PASTABOYS, KIRK DEGIORGIO, ALEX UNDER, GUGLIELMO MASCIO, SLEEPARCHIVE, BUZZ GOREE, GERARDO FRISINA, JAZZANOVA, SCUOLA FURANO, PAUL MURPHY, VOLCOV, ISOUL8, AJELLO, DANIELE BALDELLI, BEPPE LODA, SLOPE, PROSUMER, MY MY, MADTEO, BORIS DJ, SPILLER, ALEX & LAETITIA, DANIEL WANG, JONA, RA.H, TRACTILE, ROGER23, DICKY TRISCO, NEWWORLDAQUARIUM, SKAT, MIKE

HUCKABY, MARCELLO NAPOLETANO, LEVON VINCENT, TAMA SUMO, QUARION, DOR, SCOTT FERGUSON, TIGER & WOODS, MORGAN GEIST, MARCELLO GIORDANI, NOZAKI, FORCE OF NATURE, DJ PETE, LUCRETIO & MARIEU .. And many others. Sometimes these djs was unknown, and now they play in the best clubs and festivals around the world. The big delusion was Move D and the best djs was Dj Kent: the japanese djs are really specials”.

Mr. 15mins: “Very soon You are the guest of “Nice to meet you”, what will you expected from this event?”

Dj Dax: “I wanna be there! The promoters are really clever and the location is very suggestive. Let’s get this party started.. Come on, it’ll be very nice to meet you”.
