COMMENT
From his forthcoming album "Moodlex Sessions" on Wallys Groove World, Frank Bongers makes his debut on Wha? Roots with some serious style, On A1 the album version of "Original" brings out the flute's on the bossa with an infectious guitar lead and groovy bassline. On A2 check out the Re.doit.stone.funk.collective's (Beker, Sexxx, dax DJ) "Up the Sun Rmx" with a rolling bassline, acidic jazzy chords and clever percussive touches.
Italian DJ Dax and partner in crime Mog up the tempo on A3 for the Mogdax remix with a slightly harder edged driving bassline, congas, trippy synth stabs and some nice atmospheric touches. Over on B1 "Bossa" takes the tempo up a notch further for a deep bossa nova workout with smooth chords, beautifully programmed percussion and funky synths. Flip over to B2 and check out the pumping beats and deep, dubby bassline of "Chicken Run" for some groovy dancefloor action Moodlex style.
